WHAT IS THIS EVENT ALL ABOUT? WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?

The Go Negosyo Youth Entrepreneurship Summit is a one-day forum/expo which aims to promote entrepreneurial success among all Filipinos, particularly the youth. There will be seminars and insightful discussions with experienced Go Negosyo Angelpreneurs and mentors pertaining to all the basics of going into business such as spotting the right opportunities, marketing, financing, product development and innovation. Government leaders will also be sharing their views on the need for entrepreneurship development in the country.


FASHION APPAREL and ACCESSORIES, BEAUTY and WELLNESS, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, FRANCHISING, CREATIVE SERVICES, FOOD and BEVERAGE
, ……..Anything that has to do with entrepreneurship…You name it, we got it!

The Youth Entrepreneurship Summit will showcase different products and service for your buying (and sampling) pleasure! SMEs, as well as more established companies will be there to offer one of-a-kind products! It will also be a good venue for spotting the right business for you and your friends!

YOUTH ORGS / STUDENT ENTREPRENEURS….THE WHOLE SCHOOL COMMUNITY should be there! Now, if you need a permission slip just to attend this awesome event, send us your school’s details and we’ll try to send them an invite.

But basically, this event is open to ALL! Students, Non-students, Entrepreneurs, Employees, OFWs, Celebrities……..we will be ready for you!
ADMISSION IS FREE! We cannot stress this enough.

This event is organized by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, the NGO behind the Go Negosyo advocacy.

  • Participant – Simply attend the event and be inspired by the Go Negosyo mentors. Learn the basics of putting up a business, and grab the chance to ask these established mentors questions on how you can work on your dream business.
  • Exhibitor – Showcase and expose your products and services to 20,000 people. Find out how.

Who can be nominated for this award?

AWARDS BRIEF

The 2010 the Go Negosyo Most Inspiring Young Filipino Entrepreneurs is a nationwide search spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE). By recognizing inspiring role models for the youth, PCE hopes not only to provide the youth with an array of negosyo models that they can go into but also to instill a culture of entrepreneurship among them.

The search will run from August 11 to September 11, 2010. Twenty (20) finalists will be selected from all the nominations around the country, of which only 10 will be chosen as winners.

ELIGIBILITY: QUALIFICATIONS TO JOIN

  1. A nominee must be a Filipino citizen, aged 35 years old or below.
  2. The nominee’s business must be classified as a Micro, Small or Medium enterprise (MSME).
  3. The nominee’s business must be at least one year old, from start of operations, but not older than three years old.
  4. Nominees must submit the following documentary requirements:
    1. Business Profile
    2. Certificate of Registration from DTI (for sole proprietorships), SEC (for partnerships and corporations), or CDA (for cooperatives)
    3. BIR Certificate of Registration
    4. Business Permit from the local city or municipality office (i.e., Mayor’s Permit)
    5. Audited financial statement as of the last fiscal year
  5. A nominee must also submit an essay (maximum of 1500 words) on the topic “My Business and I Amidst Challenges and Obstacles”. As a guide, it should answer the questions below although not in that particular order. Feel free to add other information which you think would be necessary for the judges to know about you and your business.
    1. How did you start your business? Why did you engage in this kind of business? How do your product(s) and/or service(s) differ from the rest?
    2. What were the challenges and difficulties that you encountered along the way and how did you overcome them?
    3. What is the impact of your business in your life? How did it improve the lives of others?
    4. What are your plans for your business five years from now? Ten years from now?

MECHANICS

  1. Only 10 winners will be named “Go Negosyo Inspiring Young Filipino Entrepreneurs”
  2. Nominations will run from August 11 until September 11, 2010.
  3. Nomination forms and other required documents may be submitted via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.   4. A Screening Committee will then select the top 20 finalists based on the set criteria, out of which the ten national winners will be selected.
  5. Once selected, the ten awardees must personally receive the award on the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit on September 27, 2010.

Can we nominate organizations/cooperatives/other groups?

Yes, we also recognize organizations or other young entrepreneurs, provided that the group was founded and is currently being managed by a Filipino aged 35 years old or younger.


Who selects the winners?

The winners are determined by a panel of judges headed by the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, who reserves the right to screen and determine awardees.
