FREE MENTORSHIP TAKES OFF IN BAGUIO CITY

With the goal of bringing mentorship closer to every Filipino, Go Negosyo together with the Department of Trade and Industry has been championing the advocacy to provide access to capacity building for the underserved and unserved MSMEs through on-site free one on one mentorship encounters across the country conducted by the esteemed network of Go Negosyo Mentors.

Last November 12, Mentor Me On Wheels arrived at its 11th stop at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City, and served more than 300 entrepreneurs both start-up and existing business owners. Dedicated mentors led by Natividad Cheng, Founder & CEO of Multiflex RNC Philippines, Inc. (Uratex); Rey Lapid, Owner and President of R. Lapid’s Chicharon & Barbecue – R.L. Foods Corp; Winston Uy, President of Universal Leaf Philippines, Inc. and 40 more mentors joined the mentoring session.

Present during the program were Hon. Mauricio Domogan, City Mayor of the Local Government of Baguio City; Hon. Cresencio Pacalso, Provincial Governor of Benguet; Grace Baluyan, DTI – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Assistant Regional Director.

Aside from the mentoring session, there was a forum on Creativepreneurship held at the University of the Philippines – Baguio. Panelists include Adelaida Lim (HABI The Philippine Textile Council Inc.); Christian Monsod (Warner Music Philippines); Robert Alejandro (Papelmelroti); Armando Bartolome (GMB Franchise Developers); Mark Panganiban (Dragonpay); and Ben Hur Villanueva, a seasoned artist and creativepreneur. The forum was moderated by Joel Santos (THAMES International Business School).

The two-hour forum focused mainly on: 1. Achieving prosperity through entrepreneurial creativity; 2. Scaling up creative and innovative ideas into value-creating profitable business and; 3. Overcoming challenges in the industry; intellectual property rights, how to price your output and access to market. The discussion was led by Go Negosyo, Department of Tourism – CAR, and DTI-CAR in partnership with UP Baguio.

Through MMOW, Go Negosyo and its partner, Department of Trade and Industry will introduce mentors to micro and small entrepreneurs offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through sessions in convenient and accessible locations. This program is in line with the current administration’s vision to capacitate micro and small businesses in boosting the Philippine economy.

EXTENDING MENTORSHIP TO CEBU CITY

On to its 12th route, Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me On Wheels will now travel to the Queen City of South this November 12 at the Event Center of SM City Cebu.

Tagged as one of the most fastest emerging economies in the Philippines, Cebu City is a first class municipality in the Central Visayas. It is officially recognized as a highly urbanized city with a booming economy that proved the city’s hierarchy of progress.

Attendees will get the chance to sit down with a Go Negosyo mentor for a 30-minute one-on-one mentoring session. Topics to be discussed are entrepreneurial mind-setting, marketing, product development, growth & expansion, business model canvas, operations management, supply & value chain, human resource management, accounting & finance management, taxation and business law to provide supplemental knowledge on managing micro and small businesses.

The previous successful legs in Metro Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Pampanga, Davao, Albay, Quezon City, Angeles City, Taguig City, General Santos City, and Baguio City are a joint initiative of Go Negosyo and the Department of Trade and Industry that aims to bring mentorship closer to all Filipinos.

Through MMOW, Go Negosyo introduces mentors to micro-small business owners, offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through events in more convenient and accessible locations. GO NEGOSYO MENTOR ME ON WHEELS GOES TO GENERAL SANTOS CITY

The roster of Go Negosyo entrep-mentors during the 10th leg of MMOW in General Santos City.

The government, with the help of DTI, Go Negosyo and the private sector, will be here to mentor you especially in areas on how to use and source money to grow your business and on how to reach more markets for your products and services.”

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion attended the first ever Money and Market Encounter (MME) and led the 10th kick off of Mentor Me On Wheels  in General Santos City last October 15, 2018.

Listed as the biggest roll out, MMOW Gensan generated more than 600 participants and over 70 entrep-mentors. It has been proven that whether participants are startups or existing entrepreneurs, they are willing to spend time in learning and curating new ideas to help them prosper in their chosen field.

Concepcion also mentored five participants during the session. One of which was Raymund Elicano who honestly did not know about MMOW but was beyond grateful as he was offered by Concepcion an air fare that will enable him to go to Isabela to attend an exhibit and expose his products to a wide market. Elicano who is working as a merchandiser for a local brand, is also into handicraft-making made out of strings.

Before Concepcion leave for his flight, he was able to meet Kaye Layco and Ralph Layco who were part of Go Negosyo’s Youth Entrepreneurship Development Workshop (YEDW) in 2015. They are the owners of Macho Mucho, a home grown brand from Gensan. Both Ralph and Kaye was grateful for the support given by Go Negosyo and through MMOW, they were able to give back as mentors to other MSMEs.

Moreover, Department of Trade and Industry together with Go Negosyo, Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED), Micro Small Medium Enterprise Development Council (MSMED Council) and esteemed partners pioneered the launch of first MME program in Region 12 with the aim to supplement graduates of KMME and KAMMP and link them to financial institutions and market platforms held at the Sun City Suites, General Santos City.

Attended by more than 200 graduate-mentees, the encounter presented three fora on Money, Market and Digital which focused on micro and small entrepreneurs and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs); penetrating the brick and mortar platform for sustainable marketing; and driving MSMEs to digital transformation.

MMOW and MME aims to to link mentees to institutions and mentors who can help them in their needs not just for expansion but also offer them technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship.

Free Mentoring Sails to the Country’s Tuna Capital – General Santos City

Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me On Wheels is now en route to the Tuna Capital of the Philippines, General Santos City happening on October 15 at the Event Center of SM City General Santos.

The City of General Santos is located at the southernmost part of the Philippines, known for its diverse and classified highly urbanized first class city. It is also the regional center for commerce and industry of the SOCCSKSARGEN region. The city is also blessed with rich culture and human resource.

With the aim to bring mentorship closer to every Filipinos, MMOW has reached over nine cities in the country. After its successful roll out in Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Clark, Davao, Legazpi, Quezon City, Pampanga and Taguig.

On its tenth run, MMOW together with the roster of Go Negosyo mentors will further harness both existing and budding entrepreneurs in the city through its 30 minutes free 1-on-1 mentoring session about marketing and entrepreneurial mind setting.
The mentoring program will be led by Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion and will be graced with the participation of Ronnel C. Rivera, City Mayor of General Santos; Dorecita T. Delima, DTI Regional Director; Congressman Pedro B. Acharon; and Rey Lapid, President and CEO of R. Lapid’s Chicharon and Barbecue.

Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me On Wheels (MMOW)  was brought into action in the City of Taguig last October 2, 2018 at the lower ground floor of SM Aura Premier.

MMOW Taguig was attended by more than 800 participants with the desire to be mentored and absorb insights regarding entrepreneurial mind-setting and marketing straight from the top entrepreneurs in the country.

During its successful ninth roll out, MMOW presented more than 100 mentors headed by Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion, 2018 ASEAN Business Advisory Council Chair Dr. Robert Yap, Taguig City Mayor Lani Cayetano, including Senators Bam Aquino and Miguel Zubiri and SM Investments Corporation Vice Chairman Tessie Sy-Coson.

The Mentor Me On Wheels – Taguig was also launched as an initiative of the ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN)

“I wish that one day we really will get our act and finally solve the biggest problem of this country and move forward to creating greater prosperity for everyone not just in the Philippines but also in ASEAN countries,” Concepcion said as he welcomed all the participants.

This leg was made extra special as ASEAN Business Advisory Council chairs and council members from across the region have graced and shared their own expertise during the launched. This was part of the initiative under the program ASEAN Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN). Tan Sri Dr. Mohd Munir (ASEAN BAC Malaysia), Arin Jira (ASEAN BAC Thailand), and Anangga Roosdiono (ASEAN BAC Indonesia) shared their expertise and even participated in the mentoring session.

“As an entrepreneur you have to be everything. The most important thing is that you should know your environment, are you going against the wind or are you going with the wind? So, this (MMOW) is a very good time for you to take advantage of this kind of program to prepare you in greater endeavors,” Dr. Robert Yap (ASEAN BAC Singapore) shared during his speech in the program.
