GO NEGOSYO MENTOR ME ON WHEELS GOES TO GENERAL SANTOS CITY

The roster of Go Negosyo entrep-mentors during the 10th leg of MMOW in General Santos City.

“With the right mindset and level of creativity and innovation, most of you will shine and persevere in the business community. The government, with the help of DTI, Go Negosyo and the private sector, will be here to mentor you especially in areas on how to use and source money to grow your business and on how to reach more markets for your products and services.”

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion attended the first ever Money and Market Encounter (MME) and led the 10th kick off of Mentor Me On Wheels  in General Santos City last October 15, 2018.

Listed as the biggest roll out, MMOW Gensan generated more than 600 participants and over 70 entrep-mentors. It has been proven that whether participants are startups or existing entrepreneurs, they are willing to spend time in learning and curating new ideas to help them prosper in their chosen field.

Concepcion also mentored five participants during the session. One of which was Raymund Elicano who honestly did not know about MMOW but was beyond grateful as he was offered by Concepcion an air fare that will enable him to go to Isabela to attend an exhibit and expose his products to a wide market. Elicano who is working as a merchandiser for a local brand, is also into handicraft-making made out of strings.

Before Concepcion leave for his flight, he was able to meet Kaye Layco and Ralph Layco who were part of Go Negosyo’s Youth Entrepreneurship Development Workshop (YEDW) in 2015. They are the owners of Macho Mucho, a home grown brand from Gensan. Both Ralph and Kaye was grateful for the support given by Go Negosyo and through MMOW, they were able to give back as mentors to other MSMEs.

Moreover, Department of Trade and Industry together with Go Negosyo, Bureau of Small and Medium Enterprise Development (BSMED), Micro Small Medium Enterprise Development Council (MSMED Council) and esteemed partners pioneered the launch of first MME program in Region 12 with the aim to supplement graduates of KMME and KAMMP and link them to financial institutions and market platforms held at the Sun City Suites, General Santos City.

Attended by more than 200 graduate-mentees, the encounter presented three fora on Money, Market and Digital which focused on micro and small entrepreneurs and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs); penetrating the brick and mortar platform for sustainable marketing; and driving MSMEs to digital transformation.

MMOW and MME aims to to link mentees to institutions and mentors who can help them in their needs not just for expansion but also offer them technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship.
