Go Negosyo’s Free Mentorship Travels Back to Davao City!

Davao City is one of the most highly urbanized cities in the Philippines and continues to grow as a premier city. In 2018, its economic prowess remains the fifth biggest economy in the country in 2018. Just last year, we have launched Go Negosyo’s free mentorship at SM Lanang Premier, Davao City.  It was one of the grandest launches which gathered about 1,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and more than 100 mentors including Madame Honeylet Avanceña and then Special Assistant to the President Bong Go who provided their knowledge on managing micro and small businesses.

This July 31, 2019, Go Negosyo in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, will transport, for the second time, its free mentorship for our dear Dabawenyos at the Annex Event Center of SM City Davao (SM Ecoland).

Notable mentors on the list are Baby Montemayor, Owner/General Manager of Villa Margarita Hotel; Olive Puentespina, Cheesemaker and Founder of Malagos Farmhouse Cheese; and Marga Nograles, Creative Director of Kaayo Modern Mindanao, and many more!

Mentees have the chance to be mentored in terms of Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting and Values Formation which focus heavily on the introduction to entrepreneurship or the addition to knowledge. The session on entrep-mindsetting focuses on establishing the foundation of a values-oriented entrepreneur who maximizes resources effectively, capacitates his team objectively, honors obligations and agreements religiously, and most importantly, manages and operates the enterprise sustainably. This highlights the importance of taking risks in a business venture and/or the scaling up of an established enterprise.

Access to Market or Marketing topic goes beyond the basics of knowing the target consumers and locale of operation, the module on marketing mindset bears crash courses on marketing strategy, establishment of value proposition, and brand sustenance in a highly competitive and dynamic industry while anchored on the company’s objectives, capacity of production, and quality of output.

Through MMOW and Mentor Me Online, mentors are introduced to micro and small entrepreneurs, offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through events in more convenient and accessible locations. These programs are in line with the current administration’s vision to capacitate micro and small businesses in boosting the Philippine economy.
