Go Negosyo Mentor Me On Wheels is going to the heart of Binondo, Manila, the world’s oldest Chinatown happening this February 28, 2019 at the Lucky Chinatown Mall.

Binondo has become the melting pot of almost all the commercial endeavors of both Chinese and Filipino merchants in the Philippines. This year, Go Negosyo founder and the Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion together with Kevin Tan, Senior Vice President of Megaworld; Henry Lim Bon Liong, CEO and President of SL Agritech; and Sen. Bam Aquino will lead the 15th leg of the FREE ONE-ON-ONE mentorship to Manila.

Concepcion highlighted: “With mentorship, Filipinos have a better chance to succeed. We are all here to mentor all aspiring entrepreneurs who want to achieve prosperity in their businesses.”Through MMOW, Go Negosyo and the Department of Trade and Industry introduce mentors to micro and small entrepreneurs, offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through events in more convenient and accessible locations. Also, MMOW creates and enables entrepreneurs to a sustainable environment that enables them to become successful through programs on mentorship.

GO NEGOSYO, PFA & AFFI TO MENTOR ON FRANCHISING


Go Negosyo is bringing together two of the biggest business franchise organizations in the country through its program, Mentor Me On Wheels (MMOW).

On to this year’s first MMOW leg, Go Negosyo in partnership with the Philippine Franchise Association (PFA) and the Association of the Filipino Franchisers Inc. (AFFI) confederate to transport mentorship on franchising to a wider scale of aspiring entrepreneurs and franchisees on January 29, 2018 at Events Center, SM Megamall.

Both PFA and AFFI have been staunch supporters of Go Negosyo. PFA is guided by its mission to promote franchising as a tool for economic development and nation-building, through enterprise development and employment generation. AFFI, on the other hand, continues to inspire the public to take part in franchising industry offering technical assistance such as research and development and has taken significant marks in the industry.

Joining Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion, are more than 100 franchise owners such as Samie Lim, Chairman Emeritus  of PFA; Dr. Alan Escalona, Chairman of PFA, and CEO of Fruit Magic; Richard Sanz, President of PFA and President of Bibingkinitan; Joyce Co Yu, President of AFFI and Owner of Trueblends Tea and Coffee; Eric Caeg, Chairman of AFFI and President & CEO of RAP Training and Marketing Services; and Jorge Wieneke, Vice President of AFFI and President and CEO of Tokyo Tempura.

Looking back at the 13 successful roll outs last 2018 with more than 3500 mentees, MMOW will continue to bring mentorship closer to every Filipino this 2019.

GO NEGOSYO BRINGS FREE MENTORSHIP BACK IN METRO MANILA

Christmas season is the perfect time for all our kababayans who are Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) to come home and be with their families. As an early Christmas treat, Go Negosyo together with the Department of Trade and Industry led off the 13th roll out of Mentor Me On Wheels last December 3, 2018 held at the Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Attended by more than 400 mentees, the session was made even more special by the participation of hundreds of OFWs and seafarers who wants to start or develop their business models. Sen. Cynthia Villar, Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez, and Amb. Carlos Salinas also joined the mentoring session.

Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder Joey Concepcion emphasized how MMOW can change the life of many by saying, “The fulfillment we are getting by helping our MSME is truly rewarding. This, I think is the best christmas gift we can give to our OFW and seafarers for the sacrifices that they are doing. Also, many of our entrep-mentors took time despite their busy schedules to impart ideas and knowledge to our mentees.”

Sen. Cynthia Villar, who was also the guest of honor shared her mindset in business and mentored two lucky mentees in the one-on-one session. During her talk, Villar reiterated that, “Hanap-buhay at negosyo, ‘yan ang kailangan ng ating mga kababayan upang makaahon sa kahirapan at upang maging tuluy-tuloy ang pagsulong ng ating bansa. ‘Wag mamaliitin ang maliit na negosyo. Malaki ang aking tiwala na ang mga small and micro industry and magdadala ng progreso sa ating bansa.”

Since the 13th roll out is tailored to cater our OFWs and Seafarers, Ambassador Carlos Salinas of the International Maritime Organization graced the event and inspired not just the mentees but also shares valuable knowledge to the esteemed mentors.

During the mentoring session, Felipe Preciado, owner of an electrical trading and services business became a mentee of Alice Eduardo of Sta. Elena Construction and Development Corporation. After the mentoring session, Eduardo invited him to her office to meet her electrical engineers and guide him with regard to his queries and concerns in the supply management.

Mentoring lands to the Queen City of the South, Cebu City!


Mentorship has travelled a long way! After its successful launches in Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Clark City, Davao, Legazpi, Quezon City, Pampanga, Taguig City, General Santos City and Baguio City, Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me On Wheels has brought the free mentoring session to the City of Cebu.

Last November 19, 2018, more than 400 mentees and more than 60 mentors participated during the session held at the Event Center of SM City Cebu. This indeed proved that Cebu is one of the tiger cities of the Philippines as seen on its economic prowess.

Notable speakers and guests who attended include Joey Concepcion, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder; Hon. Tomas Osmeña, Mayor of Cebu City; Asteria C. Caberte, Regional Director of DTI Region 7; Marina Hermoso, OIC-Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture; Rommel Sytin, President of Foton Motors Inc.; Jay Aldeguer, President/Chairman of the Islands Group; Michael Escaler, Chairman and President of All Asian Countertrade, Inc.; Nurhayati Abdullah, Country Manager of DHL Express Philippines and was made more exciting as celebrity entrepreneur Richard Yap also joined.

During the mentoring session, Concepcion was able to mentor April Colina and taught her how to market her shoe products. Immediately right after the event, April was connected to Lazada COO Carlos Barerra who guided her on how to sell her products through Lazada.

The pool of Go Negosyo mentors from Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other esteemed mentors shared their expertise during the session. Their dedication in bringing mentorship closer to Filipinos has never ceased throughout the journey of Mentor Me On Wheels. Mentors attended and shared their knowledge on entrepreneurial mind-setting, marketing, product development, growth & expansion, business model canvas, operations management, supply & value chain, human resource management, accounting & finance management, taxation and business law to provide supplemental knowledge on managing micro and small businesses.

FREE MENTORSHIP TAKES OFF IN BAGUIO CITY

With the goal of bringing mentorship closer to every Filipino, Go Negosyo together with the Department of Trade and Industry has been championing the advocacy to provide access to capacity building for the underserved and unserved MSMEs through on-site free one on one mentorship encounters across the country conducted by the esteemed network of Go Negosyo Mentors.

Last November 12, Mentor Me On Wheels arrived at its 11th stop at the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City, and served more than 300 entrepreneurs both start-up and existing business owners. Dedicated mentors led by Natividad Cheng, Founder & CEO of Multiflex RNC Philippines, Inc. (Uratex); Rey Lapid, Owner and President of R. Lapid’s Chicharon & Barbecue – R.L. Foods Corp; Winston Uy, President of Universal Leaf Philippines, Inc. and 40 more mentors joined the mentoring session.

Present during the program were Hon. Mauricio Domogan, City Mayor of the Local Government of Baguio City; Hon. Cresencio Pacalso, Provincial Governor of Benguet; Grace Baluyan, DTI – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Assistant Regional Director.

Aside from the mentoring session, there was a forum on Creativepreneurship held at the University of the Philippines – Baguio. Panelists include Adelaida Lim (HABI The Philippine Textile Council Inc.); Christian Monsod (Warner Music Philippines); Robert Alejandro (Papelmelroti); Armando Bartolome (GMB Franchise Developers); Mark Panganiban (Dragonpay); and Ben Hur Villanueva, a seasoned artist and creativepreneur. The forum was moderated by Joel Santos (THAMES International Business School).

The two-hour forum focused mainly on: 1. Achieving prosperity through entrepreneurial creativity; 2. Scaling up creative and innovative ideas into value-creating profitable business and; 3. Overcoming challenges in the industry; intellectual property rights, how to price your output and access to market. The discussion was led by Go Negosyo, Department of Tourism – CAR, and DTI-CAR in partnership with UP Baguio.

Through MMOW, Go Negosyo and its partner, Department of Trade and Industry will introduce mentors to micro and small entrepreneurs offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through sessions in convenient and accessible locations. This program is in line with the current administration’s vision to capacitate micro and small businesses in boosting the Philippine economy.
