Go Negosyo, PEF unveil winners of first Southeast Asia Mobile App Challenge PH

The Go Negosyo – Peace and Equity Foundation Southeast Asia Mobile Application Challenge has come to an end with the Philippine Finals held on January 20, 2015 at the Ante Auditorium, Ateneo Professional School in Rockwell, Makati City.

The Philippine finals gathered the top 19 teams who outshone the rest in the competition which saw the participation of young people from Manila, Laguna, Pangasinan, Cavite, Cebu, Davao, Iligan City and Cagayan de Oro.

During the final presentation, each team was given three minutes to pitch their application ideas followed by another three minutes for a question-and-answer session before the highly esteemed panel of judges composed local and international tech mentors and experts led by Ms. Myla Villanueva (MDI Group).

Bettina Quimson (DOST-eSociety).

After the finals session, the emerging 10 teams are (in no particular order): Team Filterr (Filterr), Team Kargadoor (Kargadoor), Team Rocketeers (Made2Order), Team HIA (HistoryA), Team WOT (PasaHeroes), Team Volo (Volo), Team Siglo (Siglo), Team Rio J (RescueWhere), Team Orderee (Orderee) and the Team Help App (Help App).

Each team is awarded One Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php100,000.00) as seed money for their dream mobile apps. Out of the ten teams, three winners were selected who will wave the Philippines’ flag in the Asia Pacific Mobile App Challenge Finals to be held in Singapore this February 15-17, 2015. These are: Team Siglo led by Mr. Alvin Tan; Team HIA led by Ms. Maria Teresa Dumlao and Team Volo led by Mr. John Paul Barcelon.

Meanwhile, Smart Mobile Internet awarded the People’s Choice award to Team Leaf (#SafePay) who also brought home Thirty Thousand Pesos (Php30,000)

Team Leaf (#Safepay) won Smart Mobile Internet People’s Choice, it was awarded by Mr. Paris de L’etraz (IE Business School), Mr. Mon Lopez (Executive Director, Go Negosyo), Mr. Carlo Suguitan, (Smart Communications); Mr. Robert Calingo (Executive Director, Peace and Equity Foundation).
