A very successful Entrepreneurship and Financial Literacy Seminar was held for OFWs of the Kingdom of Bahrain last June 8, 2012 at the Bahrain Society of Engineers, Juffair. A joint project of the Filipino Club and the Philippine Embassy under the leadership of Her Excellency Ambassador Corazon Yap-Bahjin, the seminar aimed to help OFWs realize the value of their time and hard work and to invest their resources into possible business ideas.
The team of Go Negosyo Angelpreneurs (angels to entrepreneurs) who flew to Bahrain on June 6 were: Bro. Michael Angelo Lobrin, author of the bestseller, Laugh with God Today, Dean Pax Lapid, author of the Go Negosyo bestseller, 21 Steps to Start Your Own Business, Prof. Reuel Virtucio, Vice President of Punla sa Tao Foundation and Mr. Armando Bartolome, Franchise Guru of the Philippines and President of the Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc.
Bro. Mike Lobrin, in his unique entertaining way, encouraged the participants to have the proper mindset to succeed in life and in entrepreneurship. Dean Pax shared simple and east-to-remember formulas on how to save and invest money. Prof. Virtucio presented the elements of a successful enterprise and shared tips on how participants can do this on their own. Mr. Bartolome spoke of his experiences in franchising and showed some examples on how ordinary people turned into successful entrepreneurs and franchised their businesses.
Participants, some of whom flew-in from as far as Oman, sat through the seminar and eagerly took notes of the tips and advice of the angelpreneurs. After the session, they got to approach them for short consultations which they wish to eagerly start with their families in the Philippines.
With the success of this Negosem, it is possible that a Go Negosyo Middle East caravan could be held within the year.
