The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship-Go Negosyo finished its three runs of Negosyo Seminars (NegoSems) this week in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte. After the Negosem in Valenzuela City (for NCR Area 2) and Cagayan de Oro (for Northern Mindanao), the NegoSem for CARAGA Region was held last May 21 under the leadership of DTI Regional Director Brielgo “Brix” Paragan .
A crowd of around 550 trooped to the Almont Inland Resort and stayed until the end of the seminar to listen, be inspired and learn about how to start and grow a business. Some even travelled for over three hours just to take part in Go Negosyo’s first ever event in the province. And as observed in past NegoSems, attendees were early and enthusiastic, wrote down notes, and participated during the open forum.
The NegoSem was hosted by Go Negosyo’s Paul Gorgonio and Ina Flores. DTI Agusan del Norte Provincial Caretaker Gae Tidalgo kicked off the program by delivering the opening remarks. The NegoSem for Region 13 was also supported by the local government of Butuan City, with the mayor’s representative Mario Tiu giving a special message. This was followed by Go Negosyo’s Executive Director Ramon Lopez, who gave an overview about the foundation and the NegoSem framework.
Go Negosyo Inspiring Davaoeño entrepreneurs drove for six hours to Butuan City to impart their negosyo knowhow and wisdom to the NegoSem attendees. These were Sally Leuenberger of SUL Orchids and Ferdie Marañon of Golden Saba and SAGREX Corporation. Meanwhile, the seminar proper was led by Angelpreneurs Ping Sotto (mindset), Paulo Tibig (spotting business opportunities), Reuel Virtucio (product development), Mylene Abiva (marketing), and Glenn Baticados (finance). Regional MSMED Council Chairperson Eufroceles Udarbe, Sr. wrapped up the day with a closing message.
