AWARDS BRIEF

 

The Nokia Mobile Entrepreneur Award is a nationwide campaign
that aims to:

1. Recognize
   local Filipino entrepreneurs who utilize mobile technology;
2. Encourage
   the use of mobile technology in entrepreneurship; and
3. Provide
   an incentive for local entrepreneurs to utilize mobile technology.

 

Minimum Qualification
Requirements

To be eligible, the candidate should the meet the following
requirements:

1. A
   Filipino citizen and at least 16 years of age;
2. An
   entrepreneur engaged in a business, for at least a year;
3. The
   candidate’s company must have a business license to operate and must
   utilize legal mobile services;
4. The
   company must utilize Nokia products/services and other mobile services as
   the primary component of their business – e.g., phone sharing (graphics,
   photos, MMS, wi-fi usage, sales and/or logistics functions).
5. The
   candidate must be able to show increase in business (i.e. sales or
   coverage) and must be willing to submit audited reports for evaluation.
6. Employees
   and officers of Nokia, Go Negosyo and sponsors are not eligible to
   participate in the Award.

 

Awards Criteria

Innovations employed/ Creative use of mobile service 40%

Extent of usage of mobile service to total business 25%

Impact of the usage of mobile service on the business
revenue 25%

Quality of customer interaction/service 10%

Contest Process

1. Candidates
   must submit their entries on or before April 14, 2008 and must comply with the nomination
   process.
2. The
   Screening Committee will examine the performance of all the nominees based
   on the criteria and will select the top 12 nominees.
3. The 12
   nominees will then be required to make themselves available for further
   assessment/visit and validation of their business.

   12 nominees will then be evaluated until April 28, 2008 based on the awards criteria.
4. Six
   (6) semi-finalists will converge in Manila
   for the interview and final evaluation by the Award Judging Panel on May 5, 2008.
5. The
   selection and announcement of the Nokia Mobile Entrepreneur of the Year
   Award and the 1st Runner-up is on May
   6, 2008.

 

Submission of Entries

1. Business
   owners can nominate themselves.
2. Candidates
   must completely fill out the participation form and enclose the necessary
   supporting documents. Supporting documents must include:
   1. A
      one-page personal bio-data sheet on the candidate
   2. Audited
      Financial Statements of the most recent financial year
   3. Certificate
      of Business Registration
   4. Entry
      must include three customer references
3. Candidates
   must submit and attach an essay, not exceeding 1,200 words and written in
   English, describing the type of business he or she is engaged in and the
   importance of mobile services to his or her business (i.e., what are these
   services, how are they using and how these services have helped their
   business).
4. The
   participation form, essay, and all supporting documents should be sent to
   the Screening Committee c/o Go-Negosyo at 5/F RFM Corporate Center,
   Pioneer cor. Sheridan Sts, Mandaluyong
   City, not later than March 31, 2008.
