Go Negosyo Holds Mobile Challenge Asia Pacific (MCAP) Philippines 2015

(UPDATED) October 24, 2015 – Go Negosyo and Peace and Equity Foundation teamed up to launch the Mobile Application Challenge for the Philippine run of the Mobile Challenge Asia Pacific (MCAP) in partnership with Applied Innovation Institute, IE Business School and JSeed Ventures in conjunction with GSMA at the Impact Hub Manila, Green Sun Hotel Makati.

The bootcamp was opened to all types of mobile solutions developers, ranging from but not limited to education, SME solutions, entertainment, communication etc.

The first plenary talk was about What Makes A Good Tech Start-up Idea from an Investor’s Point of View with Joe Maristela of katalyst.ph as speaker. Artie Lopez from BrainSpark Philippines spoke next, giving the participants some tips on the How’s of Pitching.

The participants were able to ask questions in the forum with tech industry experts such as: Ragde Falcis, (Gorated Innovations Lab) Alvin Tan (Siglo and 2014 Philippine representative to SEAMAC PH) and Calen Legaspi (Orange & Bronze.)

After the forum, the acceleration program proper transpired. About 10 teams of participants were divided for a session with the following mentors: Renan Mara of 8 MaraLabs, Calen Legaspi of Orange and Bronze, Allan Mangune of Taughtworks, Inc. and Kenneth Swedlund, start-up and app industry expert.

The final pitch submissions for the participants is on November 9 and the semi finals (Philippine finals) is on December 5. The top two teams will receive one ticket each to Hawaii, USA to represent the Philippines for the Regional finals to be held in Hawaii, USA.
