Go Negosyo to Visit Masbate, Davao this October

The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo will run negosyo seminars in Masbate, Bicol and Davao City, Davao this October.

The Masbate NEGOSEM, organized jointly with the Department of Trade and Industry – Masbate Provincial Office, is to be conducted on October 19 Wednesday at Magallanes Coliseum in Masbate City. This is the second time Go Negosyo will visit the Bicol Region this year — the first being in Sorsogon last June 22.

Go Negosyo, University of Iloilo Host Iloilo NEGOSEM for Students

The Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship – Go Negosyo and the University of Iloilo successfully hosted the Negosyo Seminar para sa mga Estudyante ng Iloilo last September 27 at SM City Iloilo Cinema 6.

Despite the bad weather that hit the country brought by tropical storm Pedring, the Go Negosyo team, based in Mandaluyong, literally braved the storm and trooped to Region 6, to roll out a well-attended negosyo seminar.

Greece Lightning

Those who are my age may remember John Travolta’s song Greased Lightning. Well, John Travolta’s song and his very successful movie Grease reminds me of the country Greece, and how it has become the center of the world’s attention these days. It’s one of the reasons why the markets have started to regain its fear similar to what happened in 2008. This fear is something still so fresh in the minds of many investors who saw Lehman and other financial institutions folded-up during the last global crisis, one of the few times in our history we saw great financial turmoil taking its toll.

Greece is such a beautiful country rich in history. It played host to the Olympics in the past and is one of the countries most frequently visited by tourists to see its historic sites. But now Greece is being blamed for causing the current financial turmoil. Despite the reforms made by Prime Minister George Papandreou, Greece still missed many of the reform targets. Greece has a huge debt that many people, including myself, believe they will not be able to pay unless countries in Europe will continue to bail them out. And to what extent will the other countries be willing to pay the price for the mistake made by Greece? (more…)

15,000 Entrepreneurs Inspired at the 3rd Go Negosyo Young Entrepreneurs Summit

More than 15,000 students, teachers, and entrepreneurs were inspired as they came and participated in the 2011 Young Entrepreneurs Summit, which was held last September 23 at the World Trade Center. With the theme “Be Smart. Be Enterprising.”, participants were treated to a day filled with fun and learning, as well as motivation to improve their lives through the means of entrepreneurship.

Encouraging SME’s To grow and expand

It is a fact that majority of the businesses in the Philippines are SME based. By definition small is categorized with asset of Php. 3,000,001 to Php. 15,000,001 and having between 10 to 99 employees. On the other hand Medium is classified as Php. 15,000,001 to Php. 100,000,000 with 100 to 199 people. Many agencies be it government, private and NGOs are focused in helping the SMEs. There is always a constant need to nurture this sector, as it will spell a robust economy aside from the creation of employment.
