From a simple hobby of baking, Marilyn turned her inclination  into a home business. With creativity and perseverance, her baked goodies especially her braso de mercedes turned out to be a profitable home business.
Her friends and family pushed her to sell her baked treats in the nearby schools. She then accommodated orders for custom-made cakes for special occasions like baptisms, weddings, birthday celebrations and even corporate events.

Marilyn Peñaflor was then encouraged to join Go Negosyo and Department of Trade and Industry’s Kapatid Mentor ME Program (KMME) in 2017. According to her, the KMME program was indeed a blessing for her because she learned a lot from the program. It was very useful for someone like her who did not really plan to start her baking business.

She also takes pride in teaching bread and pastry class to PWDs with the help of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). She is now applying everything she learned in the program. Now, her advocacy is to help aspiring MSMEs to be equipped with their business and help them to scale up.

Making her business inclusive, she employs a number of deaf people. BakedwithLove by Len Cakes continues to strive to uplift the lives of the deaf community through successful and sustainable social enterprises and quality products for everyone.

For Marilyn, baking is something profitable that can be started at home and allows the owner to grow the business gradually as your capital, interest and knowledge of the business increases. Now, BakedwithLove by Len Cakes continues its sweet success through its loyal clients who orders for several occasions.

BakedwithLove by Len Cakes has received awards such as Best Homebaked Handcrafted Specialty Cakes and Desserts (2016) by National Product Quality Excellence Awards and Most Outstanding Innovative Specialty Cakes and Desserts Online Shop (2017) by Philippine Social Media Awards.
