Mentorship has travelled a long way! After its successful launches in Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Clark City, Davao, Legazpi, Quezon City, Pampanga, Taguig City, General Santos City and Baguio City, Go Negosyo’s Mentor Me On Wheels has brought the free mentoring session to the City of Cebu.
Last November 19, 2018, more than 400 mentees and more than 60 mentors participated during the session held at the Event Center of SM City Cebu. This indeed proved that Cebu is one of the tiger cities of the Philippines as seen on its economic prowess.
Notable speakers and guests who attended include Joey Concepcion, Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship and Go Negosyo Founder; Hon. Tomas Osmeña, Mayor of Cebu City; Asteria C. Caberte, Regional Director of DTI Region 7; Marina Hermoso, OIC-Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture; Rommel Sytin, President of Foton Motors Inc.; Jay Aldeguer, President/Chairman of the Islands Group; Michael Escaler, Chairman and President of All Asian Countertrade, Inc.; Nurhayati Abdullah, Country Manager of DHL Express Philippines and was made more exciting as celebrity entrepreneur Richard Yap also joined.
During the mentoring session, Concepcion was able to mentor April Colina and taught her how to market her shoe products. Immediately right after the event, April was connected to Lazada COO Carlos Barerra who guided her on how to sell her products through Lazada.
The pool of Go Negosyo mentors from Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other esteemed mentors shared their expertise during the session. Their dedication in bringing mentorship closer to Filipinos has never ceased throughout the journey of Mentor Me On Wheels. Mentors attended and shared their knowledge on entrepreneurial mind-setting, marketing, product development, growth & expansion, business model canvas, operations management, supply & value chain, human resource management, accounting & finance management, taxation and business law to provide supplemental knowledge on managing micro and small businesses.
Through MMOW, Go Negosyo and its partner, the Department of Trade and Industry introduce mentors to micro and small entrepreneurs, offering technical and practical know-how on entrepreneurship through events in more convenient and accessible locations. Also, MMOW creates and enables entrepreneurs to a sustainable environment that enables them to become successful through programs on mentorship.
