Today’s technology has leveled the playing field in terms of doing business. In this new age of computers, smartphones and a tech-savvy population, the power to start a business can be right at your fingertips.

The widespread popularity of social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and the booming online marketplace manifested by the success of sites such as Lazada, Shoppee, and Zalora, just proves that technology and business go hand in hand.

It is noteworthy that these thriving online companies were established mainly by millennial entrepreneurs.

According to the 2016 BNP Paribas Global Entrepreneur Report, millennials are starting businesses at significantly younger ages than their counterparts from previous generations. By the age of 27 these millennial entrepreneurs were reported to be managing more ventures and workers compared to their older generation who start roughly at 35.

This widespread desire to start a business may be attributed to this generation’s strong and ambitious drive to create something for themselves and find their niche in the world.
